Blue inside of some size 6 envelopes for the 2¢ (UPSS 12/Scott U6), 4¢
(UPSS 13/Scott U7), 5¢ (UPSS 14/Scott U8) and 10¢ (UPSS 15/Scott U9) values ordered in
1883. Records were made of the total envelopes printed, but without a breakdown for
those printed with a blue inside. Estimates put the quantity ordered at 1,000 of each
value. They were made with XX quality - medium thickness. All of the blue inside
envelopes reportedly were among the envelopes received via Panama on June 4, 1884. It
is possible some were among the "samples" received in December, 1883. No other blue
inside envelopes were ordered.
